Arm Lift or Brachioplasty: Treatment and Care

Arm Lift or Brachioplasty: Treatment and Care

The aging process has a nearly equal effect on different body parts. Some of the side-effects of aging include the fat under one’s skin diminishing, loss of youthful skin, reduced skin elasticity, and withering of the soft underlying tissues. As we age, the skin around our arm or underarm loosen and become droopy and the excess fat accumulated makes it look even worse. This makes women uncomfortable when they have to wear a dress or clothes with sleeves. Even though you can exercise to strengthen the underarm muscles, that still doesn’t have an effect on the extra skin of the arm. This is the perfect case for an arm lift surgery.

Before and after – arm lift

What causes skin laxity in the upper arm?

Loose and saggy arm skin cannot be fixed through the exercise in some cases and the factors contributing to that include:

  • Weight fluctuation
  • Aging
  • Genetics and hereditary characteristics

Why is an arm lift surgery performed?

This procedure is used to reshape the arms, lift loose skin, and remove localized excess fat. This loose skin creates a condition referred to as “bat wings” and in most cases, it happens in the underarm due to aging and weight loss. During this cosmetic surgery, the saggy arm skin is removed and the whole skin is tightened from the underarm region to the elbow.  There are two methods to slimming and rejuvenating the arms: one is liposuction and the other is an inner arm lift. The first method is more suitable for young women who have large arms. Through this method, fat is extracted without surgery or the need to lift the skin. However, many patients suffer from excess skin in that area. To this end, an incision is made inside of the arm to remove the excess skin.

Who is a suitable candidate for an arm lift surgery?

Most plastic surgeries are optional so opting out of one doesn’t conflict with one’s personal health. Generally, the following individuals benefit from an arm lift surgery:

  • Those with extremely saggy arm skin.
  • Those who are not extremely overweight and have a stable weight.
  • Those with a good health condition.
  • Non-smokers
  • Those with reasonable expectations from an arm lift surgery.

Contrary to the above points, if you are significantly overweight and your weight fluctuates or have a disease such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis, you should consult with your doctor as the best course of action.

Benefits of an arm lift

Looking leaner and more appealing

Your upper arm changes the way you look significantly. This surgery can be done together with other plastic surgeries to give your body a more pleasing look and form.

Become healthier

Your upper arms weighing less makes your daily life and exercising much easier and that is done by reducing the amount of fat in them. Large and saggy arms will no longer prevent you from physical activities.

Being able to wear attractive clothes

Women who feel uncomfortable with their weight tend to hide that fact and any blemishes by wearing fit clothes with sleeves. If you undergo this surgery, you will have a wider array of options and be able to wear any clothes you wish.

Increased self-confidence

Almost every person likes to have a good body. Seeing wrinkles and loose skin in the mirror is a bit disheartening. It’s fair to say most women want to stay beautiful and hear compliments about how good they look. We turn that desire into reality.

Arm lift consultation

During your first consultation, our surgeon will listen to your expectations of the surgery and preferences and also answer any of questions and doubts. You will also be informed of the surgery costs, final results you can expect, and how long the surgery will take. Additionally, your general health condition will be examined and your surgeon will explain a few things you need to watch out for in preparation for the surgery. Sometimes the scar will be a lot bigger than what you imagined. Therefore, it is highly important to learn how to properly take care of the scar in order to achieve the best possible result. The followings are checked before an arm lift surgery:

  • Reasons for undergoing this surgery, your expectations, and possible results
  • General health condition and current medication used by the patient
  • Whether or not the patient uses herbal supplements, herbal medicine, smokes, or drinks
  • Records from previous surgeries
  • Factors which could prove to be risky during surgery
  • Taking the needed photographs for the surgery

How is an arm lift surgery performed?

The goal is to lift the excess skin of the arm. Local anesthesia is applied first. The use of general anesthesia or sedatives depends on the amount of skin removed and the surgical method (the need to use liposuction). The surgery begins with an incision made on the inside of the arm. The length and shape of the incision depend on the amount and location of excess skin on the arms. There are three methods to correct the issue with arm skin: Inner arm incision, back of arm incision, and minimal incisions under the arm. Our surgeons believe that an incision should general start from the underarm and go close to the elbow. The excess fat is removed directly from the incision or through liposuction. After the shape of the arm’s skin is corrected, the incisions are closed using absorbable sutures and the patient is sent to the recovery room.

Arm lift surgery through liposuction

Some patients might also need liposuction to achieve perfect results. In this method, excess fat is extracted and excess skin is removed using localized incisions.

Convalescence and post-surgery care tips

  • You will be looked after at the clinic. Once the surgery is complete, the incision is sutured.
  • As soon as you wake up, you need to stretch your fingers by making a fist and opening it and a few days later start moving your arm.
  • It is necessary for all patients to use an arm brace.
  • You will also be given instructions on how to take care of and wash the surgical area.
  • Essential medications are prescribed for you to manage pain and infection. Make sure to complete the full prescription according to the dosage.
  • Some patients experience swelling of the forearm and arm which will go down in a few days.
  • Avoid letting your arm hang by your side since it leads to swelling and a tingling sensation in the area. It is preferred that you rest your hands on an elevated and comfortable surface. You have to keep your hands above the heart for a few days after the surgery.
  • Return to the clinic in 14 days for your arms’ condition to be examined and to remove the sutures.
  • Most patients can return to work one week after arm lift surgery. This is in case your work includes heavy physical activity. You can resume light physical activities after three weeks.
  • Refrain from lifting heavy objects with your hands until you have been fully recovered.
  • It is very important that you protect your scars from direct sunlight. The scars of your surgery will remain but slowly fade away in time until there is a thin white line.

What are the complications of an arm lift surgery?

The most important point for the patient is to pay attention to the length and amount of incisions. The scar in an arm lift is permanent but we make the incisions in places where they are not easily noticeable. As time goes on, all that will remain of the scar will be a thin straight line, but it will never fade away completely.

The asymmetrical shape of the arms

Lack of symmetry between the arms could be the result of not following the surgeon’s instructions during convalescence. However, at Estetikcentrum clinic we can prevent some of these issues thanks to our surgeons’ experience and skill.

Localized numbness

Changing the position of the arm tissue could impact the sensory nerves. In these situations, the patient experiences temporary numbness which gets resolved gradually. Other possible complications of an arm lift surgery include:

  • Bleeding
  • Damaging the deep tissue such as blood vessels and muscles
  • Bad incision
  • Swelling of the arm and fingers
  • Infection
  • Liquid accumulation
  • Removal of fatty tissues in the surgical area and fat necrosis
  • Pain
  • Need for revision surgery to correct the asymmetry in the arms

When will the results of arm lift become noticeable and how long will they last?

The new well-shaped form of the arms is instantly noticeable after the surgery but in order to view the final results, you will need to wait for the swelling and bruising to go down. The surgery’s scar will remain but fades away in time. The results of the surgery are long-lasting but you will need to maintain your weight and fitness to keep the results. At the same time, aging has its effect as well and as you grow older, nature will take its course on your body. The good news is that the results of the surgery are mostly permanent. Botox for Excessive Sweating: Treatment and Care

Botox for Excessive Sweating: Treatment and Care

Two to three percents of the general population suffer from excessive sweating, otherwise known as hyperhidrosis. Common symptoms usually emerge during adolescence and are hereditary in most cases. Hyperhidrosis influences one’s life quality and therefore can be considered as a flaw. Fortunately, there are effective ways to treat excessive sweating. If you’re tired of sweat stains on your clothes or ashamed of shaking hands with others, then you should know that Botox for excessive sweating is an effective and safe option at Estetikcentrum.

Why do some people sweat more profusely than others?

Menopause, hereditary background, hormonal factors, such as hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, co-morbidities like diabetes and coronary heart disease are the most common causes of excessive sweating. Stress is another prominent factor in its own right which stimulates sweat glands.

The problem is exacerbated when stress causes one’s heartbeat to increase and hyperventilate, all of which culminate in the person sweating more profusely.

This vicious cycle continues in a way that sweating increases the patient’s stress and stress, in turn, increases their sweating.

Many different treatment options have been prescribed for excessive sweating to date which range from medicinal to surgical ones.

Low effectiveness and large number of side-effects of the medicinal approach as well as the high cost and invasive nature of the surgical approach have made these approaches rather unpopular among patients. However, Botox for excessive sweating has been successful in solving this issue for a large percentage of the population in a simple, cheap, and non-invasive approach without the need for a convalescence period.

How can Botox help reduce sweating?

Sweat glands are located in the dermis layer of the skin and are controlled by the autonomous sympathetic nervous system. Patients who suffer from excessive sweating in the armpits, palms of the hand and soles have an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which is contrary to the common belief that these people have more sweat glands than the average person.

Botox prevents the connection between the stimulating sympathetic nervous system and sweat glands, it also prevents the secretion of sweat which results in complete drying of the injected place. Botox must be administered deep in the dermis layer, precisely where the sweat gland is, under the supervision of a practitioner.

An injection is made in approximately every square centimeter of the area that commonly sweats. It’ll take a week for the treatment to take effect. In case sweating continues in those parts of the skin then the Botox injection is administered again in that same spot.

The patient has to renew this treatment once every nine or twelve months. After multiple injections sweating decreases significantly so much so that there is no need for the treatment to continue.

Who is a suitable candidate for Botox to help with excessive sweating?

Sweating is a natural bodily function that helps adjust the body’s internal temperature, water level, and secrete toxins from the body. Sometimes excessive sweating leads to social issues and reduces the quality of those experiences.

If you’ve ever been in these situations, you’ll probably remember how wet some of your exams papers got in your hands. Wearing colorful clothes is also quite hard to wear, because it doesn’t take long for your back and armpits to become wet.

You might have avoided dance classes because of excessive sweating and been forced to spend a lot of your time showering each day. You probably have a problem with certain tasks like typing or holding tools.

Another one is that it’s both difficult and dangerous to control and hold the steering wheel with soaking wet hands.

These were only a few of the most common issues that these people have to deal with in their lives. Anyone looking for a way to control their sweating can benefit from Botox injection in sensitive body parts, such as armpits, palm of hands, soles, neck, back, internal thigh, and forehead.

Patients seeking Botox for excessive sweating must meet the following conditions:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Suffering from excessive sweating
  • Not suffering from co-morbidities such as diabetes and heart disease
  • Not using certain medications
  • Not suffering from speech or breathing disorders
  • Not suffering from neurological diseases and muscle weakness disorders

Consultation session

At Estetikcentrum clinic, we arrange a consultation session with the patient before the surgery and cosmetic treatment to evaluate their general health condition, needs and compatibility with the treatment.

The patient’s health condition is examined at first. Later, the patient’s diseases are checked to see whether they conflict with Botox injection. Undesirable symptoms, complications, and treatment techniques are also discussed during this session.

Botox treatment for excessive sweating

Botox blocks nerve signals to the sweat gland. Before beginning the treatment, a simple iodine test for starch is conducted on your skin to determine the parts needing the injection.

To start, some numbing cream is applied and the place of injection is disinfected using a special solution. Botox injections take around 15 minutes to perform on most body parts.

Botox for excessive sweating uses small thin needles which for example inject around 50 units of Botox in the armpit.

Patients seek out Botox for excessive sweating mostly for their armpits. After the sweat points under the armpit are determined and marked, Botox is injected using a very small needle.

Each treatment session takes 10 to 30 minutes and this treatment is done as an outpatient procedure and does not require you to be admitted.

Palm of the hand

Excessive abnormal sweating of the palms usually starts in childhood or during puberty but sometimes it’s delayed until your 20s. Increased sweating is symmetrical in both hands and happens at least once a week.

Even though increased sweating is witnessed during all seasons, summer’s hot weather intensifies that effect. Sweating of the palms is an issue that a lot of people deal with and this issue forces them to avoid shaking hands with others or leading to their equipment like their keyboards, being wet all the time.

Not only is excessive sweating harmful to a person, but all that moisture creates the perfect situation for fungus to grow which leads to skin issues.

To control the pain of the procedure, numbness cream and ice packs are used. The place of injection is marked and then an injection is made using a Botox syringe on the surface. Other complications of Botox for excessive sweating in treating the hands could be temporary muscle weakness which is most acutely noticed in the fingers.

Therefore, patients will have a hard time holding objects for a few days. This problem occurs because of how close the sweat glands are to the palm’s muscles which increase the chances of Botox spreading. To prevent this issue, the injection is made more on the surface and with a lower dosage.

Results of Botox injection in this area indicate that it is not as effective as injection in other sweat areas; however, many patients report that the changes in the soles are acceptable.

Since the sole is much thicker than other sweat points, the Botox injection needs to be made much deeper. To help reduce the pain, numbness cream, and ice are used. In addition to getting rid of bad foot odor, this technique prevents the individual from contracting foot funguses.

A sweaty face might annoy people more than a sweaty armpit. In this case, many people who are constantly in contact with other people, such as flight attendants, movie stars, salespeople and the likes might feel ashamed and this condition will most likely affect their job performance adversely.

It is possible to remedy this issue to a large extent through Botox injection near the hairline. Because of how close the facial muscles and sweat glands are, there is a chance of asymmetry and facial muscle sagging from Botox for excessive sweating.

This is because Botox leaks into the facial muscles. The asymmetry is temporary and fades away in a few weeks. If that doesn’t happen, then the issue can be easily resolved with another small Botox injection.

Benefits of Botox for excessive sweating

  • Non-invasive
  • Less expensive than surgical means
  • On an outpatient basis and without a convalescence period
  • Few and temporary complications
  • Incredible effectiveness

Post-treatment care tips

Results of the treatment are not immediately visible so you have to be patient.

Avoid massaging or fiddling with the place of injection for up to a week.

Avoid intense physical activities for up to 24 hours.

Also avoid taking a hot shower up to 24 hours.

You’ll experience a degree of pain and bruising in the place of injection for 2 to 3 days which quickly go away.

Complications of Botox for excessive sweating

Most of the complications and side-effects mentioned, with regard to this treatment, are temporary.

  • Bruising and partial swelling in the place of injection
  • Temporary muscle weakness if the injection is made in the palms
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Neck ache
  • Dry eye syndrome

There is no risk of muscle weakness, numbness, or permanent changes in the skin.

Results of Botox for excessive sweating

The results of Botox for excessive sweating last between 6 to 12 months. Most of the results take full effect 2 weeks after the injection. The treatment intervals must be consistent and repeated to achieve better results. Renewal intervals for the treatment differ for every patient.

Sweating is reduced 80 to 90 percent through this method. Repeating Botox injection involves no risk and prolonged renewal improves the results, making them last longer. The symptoms of excessive sweating improve drastically as well which in turn improve the individual’s life quality and productivity.

Frequently asked questions

Is Botox for excessive sweating painful?

Even though the injection process is generally painful, it won’t be an issue in this method because of the use of numbing cream.

Are there certain limitations with this method?

Botox has many applications in the cosmetic scene. There are rare cases where people are prescribed not to have Botox injections. These rare cases include women trying to get pregnant, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and those suffering from neurological disorders.

Does Botox for excessive sweating lead to water retention?

No. The body will sweat from other body parts. So even if someone does get Botox for excessive sweating in their armpits, they will still sweat from their back, neck, head, and face but the difference is that they won’t have to deal with the bad odor of their armpits.

I’m currently undergoing laser hair removal for my armpit. Can I get both treatments done in one day at your clinic?

It is prohibited to perform laser hair removal for 24 hours after Botox injection. Botox molecules are sensitive to heat and therefore their effectiveness can be diminished by the laser’s heat. Additionally, the chances of becoming infected increased in these situations. So conducting both treatments simultaneously is not advised.

How much does Botox for excessive sweating cost?

The treatment’s cost differs based on the place of injection and the amount of substance used. The exact cost of the treatment will be determined during the consultation session and will naturally be different for every patient.

Don’t allow excessive sweating to limit your daily life.

Excessive sweating limits your life in unimaginable ways. If you’ve been dealing with excessive sweating for a long time, constantly worried about changing into a fresh pair of clothes and showering, then it might be time to act and consider Botox for excessive sweating as an option.

Body Lift: Conditions and Treatments

Body Lift: Conditions and Treatments

A body lift at Estetikcentrum beauty clinic helps those who’ve lost a lot of weight redefine and improve their body image. After losing a lot of weight your skin cannot match itself with the significant amount of underlying fat lost so it starts to sag. Excess skin is generally formed around the face, body, hands and legs. Body lifts involve major surgeries which include a tummy tuck, thigh lift, butt lift and liposuction (fat extraction).

Why is it necessary to remove excess fat and skin after weight loss?

Most people who lose a tremendous amount of weight (more than 50 Kilograms) or undergo weight-loss surgeries, such as sleeve gastrectomy, are left with a lot of skin around their stomach, arms, chest, buttocks, and face.

Their skin was stretched for a long time due to the underlying fat and as a result, has lost its elasticity so it can’t go back how it looked originally. Even though this excess skin is not noticeable while wearing clothes, without clothes the person’s appearance might become unpleasant.

Therefore, a lot of folks tend to avoid the beach or swimming. This amount of skin robs the person of their mobility and all those layers of skin increase chances of acne and scarring. Sweating is another issue that could make the situation potentially worse and even lead to scar infection.

Who is a suitable candidate for a body lift?

  • The first condition for performing a body lift is that the patient has to have maintained the same weight for at least a year
  • Not planning on getting pregnant
  • Having loose and sagging skin around different body parts
  • Not having systemic diseases which put the recovery period in danger
  • Not smoking
  • Have reasonable expectations
  • Leading a healthy life and having a healthy life together with regular exercise

Who isn’t able to benefit from a body lift?

The goal of performing this surgery isn’t weight loss. This is a common misconception about body lifts. If you’re overweight, you first have to reduce your weight and maintain that weight for at least a year.

Having systemic diseases is another obstacle in whether or not to perform this surgery which can be analyzed in the consultation session.

Pre-surgery consultation

A body lift is an extensive and difficult procedure, therefore it is important to be completely sure of the patient’s health.

Medication the patient is currently using, the history of having a specific disease, and their weight are all examined. The patient’s expectations are also looked into and based on the examination and body measurements, the possible results of the surgery are discussed with the patient.

Body lifts’ options and the steps of the surgery are explained and photographs are taken before the surgery.

A body lift is done in two phases

We usually perform this surgery in two phases due to how intense it is. Additionally, your body needs time to heal in peace.

The following surgeries are performed according to a strict plan to help you achieve your desired form:

In the first surgery, the stomach’s skin is restored which includes tightening and smoothing the skin, and removing excess parts.

The stomach wall is tightened and the form of the belly button and its excess skin will be corrected. This surgery results in a better looking back and smoother abdomen. Other positives include reduced back pain and improved gastrointestinal functions after the surgery.

The second phase of a body lift includes liposuction, thigh lift, and butt lift. We’ve previously covered these surgeries in other posts, so we recommend that you take a look at those for more information. The first and second phase of a body lift is 6 months apart.

During the second phase, the tummy tuck incision is continued to the back to tighten the skin correctly and remove any excess skin. This surgery has some positive effects on your figure: Your back will become more visible and proportioned and your buttock will have a nicer form which will be harmonious with your back.

After the surgery is complete you’ll have to rest at the clinic. You’ll be shown before and after photos to help you visualize the final results after the surgery better. Our surgeons’ expertise ensures that you’ll be pleased with the results of your body lift while having very little to no complications to deal with. Your safety and health are very important to us.

Post-surgery care tips

A body lift has a long convalescence period. The pain associated with body lift surgery is a bit more than other plastic surgeries. The patient’s mood is uplifted through the use of intravenous injections and muscle relaxers at first and after a few days, the pain can be managed using oral medication.

You’re given a suitable diet which you have to follow.

After the surgery, you have to wear a special compression garment to help your body adapt to its new form.

Reduce your daily activity to a minimum so you can recover well during convalescence.

Avoid doing any form of intense sports and physical activity for up to 6 weeks.

Avoid bending down and picking up heavy objects for up to 6 weeks.

It is recommended that you try to walk after the surgery.

Half of the body’s swelling goes down after 6 weeks. The swelling completely goes away after 3 months.

Complications of the treatment

Similar to other surgeries, body lifts have their own complications. At Estetikcentrum, we strive to prevent them from ever occurring. Common and temporary complications of the surgery include:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Contusion
  • Pain
  • Weakness
  • Scarring

Some of the complications of a body lift include:

  • Bleeding
  • Swelling
  • Infection
  • Loosened skin
  • Tissue necrosis
  • Erratic scars
  • Inharmonious tissues and body parts
  • Unsatisfied with the results

Result of the surgery and its longevity

You can witness the results of a body lift immediately after the treatment is finished, but to enjoy the final results you’ll have to wait a few months. You have exercise and follow a healthy diet to maintain your results for a long time.

Since body lifts are major procedures involving many steps, it’s quite natural that the patient might feel overwhelmed. Our staff are experienced in dealing with these issues. We gladly listen to your requests and answer all your questions.

Our surgeons will take the utmost care to perform the body lift flawlessly to deliver your desired results and our whole team will be looking after you. It’s our duty and obligation to provide great care and attention from the first session to the final examination. You’ll always feel safe in our hands, even when undergoing a massive procedure such as body lift.

You can book a consultation session with our professionals online. You can also call us at 040 – 65 66 660.

Botox Injection for Preserving a Youthful look

Botox Injection for Preserving a Youthful look

Botox is an injection treatment used to remove the lines and wrinkles on a person’s face. This substance is also known as Botulinum Toxin Type A. Currently Botox injection is the most common cosmetic treatment for removing lines and wrinkles of the face. A specialist performs this procedure at Estetikcentrum.

How does Botox work?

Botulinum Toxin Type A is a substance that paralyzes underlying muscles and removes wrinkles by blocking nerves and preventing muscle contraction. In other words, Botox injection relaxes the muscle and lifts it.

This substance can also be used for cosmetic purposes to remove smile-line, frown line and wrinkles under the eyes and forehead. It is also used to prevent muscle cramping, excessive sweating, teeth grinding, and migraine.

Can I be treated using Botox?

Botox can be used to treat different issues and discomforts. Botox is usually used to resolve previously existing wrinkles and discomforts but it can also be used as a preventative measure.

When you book a consultation before undergoing Botox injection, our doctor will meet you and together you’ll analyze the issues you’re facing.

Who is a suitable candidate for Botox injection?

  • Someone with a good health condition
  • Someone who is at least 18 years old

Who is prohibited from receiving a Botox injection?

  • Those with a history of neuromuscular diseases like MS
  • Those with weak muscles in the area where the injection is going to be made
  • Those who suffer from eyelid sagging
  • Those who have deep scars on their face
  • Those who have an asymmetrical face
  • Those who have very thick skin

The benefits of Botox injection

Using Botox has many benefits; which is why this is a highly popular treatment among people for its pervasive application. This treatment method is relatively minor and safe which is always done under the supervision of a licensed practitioner and the patient rarely feels any discomfort during or after the treatment.

This is a non-invasive method and therefore does not require surgery. The results achieved through injection are delicate and natural. Treatment is done on an outpatient basis so the patient can return to their routine life immediately.

Complications and side-effects

The treatment must always be done by a specialized doctor or nurse because an incorrect injection could cause complications such as muscle sagging.

Botox injection is virtually painless but there is a chance of bruising around the sensitive treatment areas. Other complications of this treatment method include:

  • Headache
  • Numbness
  • Sensitivity to touch
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Burning sensation at the place of injection
  • Eyelid sagging

Luckily, the above-mentioned complications are all temporary and go away after a few days.

Injecting Botox into the forehead

Forehead lines form due to aging, frowning, sagging of the brows, and efforts to lift them. Forehead Botox injection is quick and painless and does not need any anesthetic injection.

Injection between the two brows

Wrinkles between two brows, which are referred to as the 11 lines, are formed as a result of frowning and aging.

Botox injection below the eye

The most valuable part of your face is your eyes. Smiling and frowning affect your eyes in time and cause wrinkles around them. Except for the laugh line, there are other delicate lines seen around the eyes which are known as crow’s feet.

Botox is highly useful for the area around the eyes and it helps your eyes regain their enchanting look while brightening up your face.

Botox injection for lips

The curved wrinkles around your mouth are due to smiling or frowning; luckily, these frown and smile lines and wrinkles can be removed using Botox which helps you get rid of the sad and depressed look on your face.

Botox injection into the neck wrinkles

Botox injection can easily remove necklines and wrinkles around the neck. This area is highly sensitive and one small mistake or improper injection could result in the patient’s inability to eat.

Migraine treatment

Migraines are devastating headaches which sometimes last for days. The botox injection in these patients can stop or increase the interval between these headaches. This effect lasts 3 to 4 months.

Sweating treatment

Botox blocks nerve signals to the sweat glands. Before beginning the treatment, a simple iodine test for starch is conducted on your skin to determine the parts in need of the injection.

To start, some numbing cream is applied and the place of injection is disinfected using a special solution. Botox injections take around 15 minutes to perform on most body parts. Botox for excessive sweating uses small thin needles, for example around 50 units of Botox are injected in the armpit.

This treatment method can be used to reduce sweating in the armpits, palms, forehead, and soles.

Before Botox treatment

After arranging a certain date for your Botox injection, you’ll meet with our specialists. During the session, your expectations are reviewed and you’ll receive information on the function of the treatment and more. The doctor’s and your opinion on aesthetics must be identical.

For example, if your definition of beauty is a frozen and motionless face and your doctor prefers a more natural face structure, then, neither of you will be pleased with the final outcome. Therefore, it is necessary that both the patient and doctor have a similar goal in mind.

If it is determined that you’re a suitable candidate for a Botox treatment, then the injection will be most likely done during the same consultation session or directly afterward.

We always recommend our patients to avoid using blood thinning medication before the injection. This is to prevent bleeding and reduce the risk of bruising.

Using the following medication leads to blood-thinning:

  • Aspirin
  • Ibuprofen
  • Vitamin E
  • Omega 3
  • Herbal medicines

Botox injection is also not recommended while pregnant.

Observe the following points during the Botox injection session:

No makeup

Clean your face with rubbing alcohol or a disinfectant before the Botox injection. So make sure not to apply anything on your face before coming to the clinic. If you have put on makeup, you’ll need to remove it at the clinic.

Stay calm

If you’re afraid of needles, make sure to keep yourself busy with another thought. Think of anything else but the needle. The injection will have been completed before you even know it.

Keep your cool and follow the doctor’s instructions carefully; during the treatment, you’ll be instructed to smile, rest your face, frown and so on.

Use ice packs

Using an ice pack before and after Botox helps reduce any potential symptoms of bruising.

How is this procedure performed?

If our specialist or nurse practitioner determines that you’re a suitable candidate for this treatment, then Botox injection will most likely be performed right after the first consultation session.

There is usually no need to use anesthetic around the treatment area but if you wish to or think that you’re sensitive around that area, then you’ll always have that option available to you.

Botox injection is done with a very thin needle under the skin which injects a small dose of Botox. The whole treatment takes around fifteen to twenty minutes and you can return to your daily routine immediately afterward.

Botox treatment can be combined with other skin injections such as filler injections; this more commonly referred to as combination therapy. We’ve previously covered different fillers in other posts, so we recommend that you read those for more information.

You can talk to Fariba, our highly experienced nurse, about Botox and fillers.

After Botox treatment

Botox injection is relatively painless and quick. If you’ve chosen the injection for the removal of wrinkles and lines, then you will most likely experience bruising after the treatment which is due to your face’s sensitivity and how thin your skin is.

We recommend that patients go back to living their daily routine, as in act how you would normally deal with your face. This way the treated areas are stimulated and you’ll achieve better results.

Nonetheless, you should never massage or rub the treated area because it could lead the injected Botox away from the muscles. So make sure to not participate in any heavy physical activity.

Avoid direct contact with sunlight or heat for up to 72 hours. The Head removes the effects of Botox.

Avoid consuming salty foods for up to 24 hours.

Make sure to elevate your head a bit using an extra pillow to prevent your face from swelling.

If you’re suffering from swelling, then place an ice pack on the affected area for 15 minutes.

Undergoing laser hair removal is strictly prohibited for 48 hours. Similarly, you’re not allowed to go to a sauna or take a hot shower.

When will the results become noticeable and how long will they last?

The final outcome of Botox injection depends on multiple factors, such as the severity of the wrinkles and lines, the size of the muscles under the lines, and the amount of Botox injected. Usually it takes a few days for the Botox to take full effect in the treatment area.

Botox’s effect is not permanent but it does last for about three to six months. This means that you will need to repeat this treatment two or three times a year to maintain its effect.

Is it possible to be allergic to Botox? Is there a way to diagnose it?

Botox test is the primary way to make sure that you’re not allergic to Botox before the injection. Some of the allergy symptoms of Botox include irritation, burning, hives, short breath, and asthma in extreme cases.

How much Botox does each person need?

Each person’s situation is different. Each person needs a certain amount of Botox based on the place of injection. So the important factors on how much Botox is needed are skin condition, patient’s health, and the place of injection.

For example, men need more Botox compared to women because of the size of their muscles. So in addition to the number of wrinkles, the patient’s gender is also a determining factor in the amount of injection.

Does long-term use of Botox reduce its effectiveness or lead to permanent muscle failure?

The truth is that your muscle will never become permanently disabled and it’s only possible for it to become resistant to Botox after multiple injections which leads to lower effectiveness and shorter results.

If you feel that you haven’t achieved the desired result through Botox, it might better to look for alternative skin rejuvenation methods. In such cases, you should definitely consult with our specialists.

Is there an age limit on Botox?

No, however it’s uncommon for young people to receive this injection unless they develop significant wrinkles after they’ve developed due to exposure to environmental factors and sunlight.

Can deep wrinkles also be removed with the help of Botox?

It might not be possible to remove these wrinkles with Botox alone. In such cases, the patient must visit the doctor again after their injection to see what the next course of action should be.

Brazilian Butt Lift: Treatment and Care

Brazilian Butt Lift: Treatment and Care

While a round and firm buttock is considered as a sign of health and beauty, a wide and flat sagging buttock could cause some women to feel self-conscious. The main causes of this are gravity, genetics, and the aging process. The Brazilian butt lift is one way to reshape the buttocks. In this cosmetic surgery, you enhance the total proportion of your lower body and fat is extracted from problematic areas of the body such as thighs and waist in order to enhance how the buttocks look. The results of this surgery last for years.

Before and After- Brazilian butt lift

Brazilian butt lift surgery is considered as one of the most sought after surgeries in the last few years which involves transferring body fat to the buttocks area. In this reshaping method, excess fat is first removed from areas such as back, lower back and thighs using liposuction. This is good news for patients who wish to get rid of some fat existing in the abdomen and thigh area. The extracted fat is then purified and transferred to the buttocks. This surgery results in a leaner figure and a much more voluptuous and curvy buttock. Through this method, your buttocks have a more natural feel and look rather than silicone implants. Also, because fat from your body is used, the possibility of incompatibility with your body is virtually zero.

Benefits of a Brazilian butt lift

Brazilian butt lift has the lowest chances of risk among other buttock enhancement surgeries. Therefore, your time recovering will be much more pleasant and shorter. According to a research paper by Dr. Thomas Roberts, an American plastic surgeon, a Brazilian butt reshaping surgery has the following characteristic:

  • Low risk
  • Simple
  • Flexible based on size and place of injection
  • Less painful
  • Faster recovery period
  • Lower chances of complications

Reasons why Estetikcentrum is the best place for a Brazilian butt lift

The Brazilian butt reshaping surgery has become one of the world’s favorite cosmetic surgeries since the 80s. Hence, this procedure is performed in countless clinics and that makes it difficult to choose the correct one. Here are a few reasons why our clinic is the best choice for this surgery:

Reducing the chance of infection, even before surgery

There is a chance for infection in any surgery. Even though that happens rarely, it could prolong recovery and leave a permanent scar. We use precise measures to reduce this risk. You are given antibiotics before your surgery in a process called “Antibiotic Prophylaxis”. This simple precaution helps reduce the chances of infection occurring before surgery and during the convalescence period.

A more voluptuous and firmer buttock

Our qualified and skilled surgeons have quite a lot of experience in Brazilian butt lift surgery. In our surgeons’ experience and expertise, the best location to extract fat from is the waist and lower back. Numerous surgeries have proven that by using fat from the waists through liposuction, the buttocks will have a more attractive and curvier look due to those areas having less fat.

Small and precise incisions

At Estetikcentrum, we strive to make the smallest incisions possible in order for you to have a smoother period of convalescence. Therefore, the incisions made during the surgery will be extremely thin and small. In fact, for liposuction we need to make a few incisions on the skin’s natural line or curve that are about 3-4 millimeters. These small incisions are made in the lower back, mid-back and one on each side of the waist. These incisions are later sutured and heal without ever being seen. The fat is then transferred using syringes that make very small holes which can be healed on their own.

Using the latest and most advanced technology in liposuction

At Estetikcentrum, a device called ‘Body Jet’ is used to perform the Brazilian butt lift surgery. This device utilizes a water jet in order for the liposuction process to go smoothly and for the fat to be extracted faster and easier without even damaging the nerves and blood vessels around it. The remaining fat in the part where fat was just extracted from is then spread around so that it doesn’t lump up and it takes a leaner look. This is important because the most common complaint from patients is fat clumping up after liposuction surgery.

No need to wait for fat purification

Our liposuction technology allows us to purify and filter fat in a certain way. In most clinics, in order to transfer fat, it first needs to spin in a centrifuge for the delicate fat cells to detach. Unfortunately, this method damages fat cells and as a result, not a lot of fat remains for use. Additionally, the patient has to wait during all this. But by using the Body-Jet system, fat gets purified instantly as it is accumulated. In this system, gravity, thrust, and vacuum are employed to detach usable fat and this process is much gentler as to preserve healthy fat cells. As a result, not only is there no need to wait, but you will also have healthier fat cells to reshape your buttocks with.

Precision fat transfer, better and long-lasting results:

After obtaining the necessary amount of fat for transferring, this center uses advanced technology which increases the life span of transferred fat cells and gives them a beautiful form. This technique is called “dripping”. In this technique, a small cannula is applied to transfer fat to the buttock. Cannula is a medical tube that is used in liposuction. When the surgeon removes the syringe-like cannula from the body, a line of fat cells remain in place. The dripping technique not only gives the surgeon the option to inject fat in the exact spot that you want, but also it leaves a lasting impression.

Heating the liposuction and injection liquid

One of the unpleasant side effects of most surgeries is feeling extremely cold when waking up almost to the point of shivering. This is because the injected liquid during surgery is colder than your body temperature and therefore the body’s temperature drops and you feel cold. We do everything in our power to keep you warm and comfortable during surgery. To do this, we adjust the liquid’s temperature to body temperature. We even heat the anesthesia which enters the fat in order for it to be extracted easier and also any liquid that enters your body so as to prevent your body temperature from dropping.

Keeping you warm after surgery:

After the Brazilian butt lift surgery is completed, you will be covered with an electric blanket to keep you from shivering. Your comfort and satisfaction from this experience are our top priorities.

Using a nurse practitioner in the recovery room

After the Brazilian butt lift surgery is over, you will be transferred to the recovery room and will rest there until you are ready to go home. Even though you’re unconscious, a nurse practitioner will be by your side during this time to check your vitals and answer all your questions.

Receiving a medical certificate for 2 weeks of rest

Before leaving the center, you will be given a medical certificate for 2 weeks of rest. It is very important that you don’t put much pressure on your buttocks during your recovery time. You even have not to sit for a while because the pressure from the weight of your body could cause the fat to be absorbed and it might lose its symmetrical form. Therefore, if you have a desk job or work in a profession that involves lots of sitting, it’s best not to go to work for a while. Keep in mind that the final result of the Brazilian butt lift surgery depends on your actions. With enough rest, you will achieve better results.

What steps does the Brazilian butt lift procedure include?

The first step is consulting with your surgeon. This session lasts about an hour during which it is evaluated whether the surgery is compatible with you. In this session, the thighs, abdomen, and buttocks are examined and the surgeon determines a suitable point for liposuction. The overall shape of the body is also examined in order to achieve the best and most natural result. In addition to this, you can also talk to your surgeon about the parts that you want to change. In this session, the surgeon will examine your medical history and talk to you about the potential risks involved. There are a few criteria that dictate whether you are a suitable candidate for this surgery. Since the fat used is extracted from your own body, it is necessary that your body has enough fat. Most of the fat is extracted from the sides and back. The fat in these parts helps your buttocks to have a more appealing and curvy look. The most suitable candidates are those who are 10 to 15 Kilograms overweight. After injecting fat into the buttocks, 70% of it is reabsorbed, therefore, 10 to 15 Kilograms of extra fat is needed. the amount of weight exactly remains in your body after convalescence depends on the recovery process. Thus, many patients need more than one surgery to achieve their desired result. In addition to having a necessary amount of fat for the transfer, the buttock needs enough extra space for the fat transfer. If there isn’t enough space, the fat cells are put under pressure and too much pressure causes a lower percentage of the transferred fat to remain in place. In severe cases significant, pressure causes fat tissue to die which would require immediate medical care. Because of this, the first consultation needs to be done completely. Fortunately, the consultation process will be done with the main surgeon and he will answer all your questions. In the consultation session, certain tests are advised which are necessary information regarding your health condition.

Care steps before Brazilian butt lift

It is required that you stop taking medication such as Aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal medicine 2 weeks before surgery. In case you’re a smoker, you need to stop smoking two weeks before the surgery.

Convalescence and essential care steps

The most important order your doctor gives you about your period of convalescence is on how to sit. For at least 3 weeks after your surgery, you cannot sit or sleep on your buttocks. This period is of great importance because during convalescence the fat cell is trying to adapt to the new space. Blood vessels are not able to expand in the transferred fat and lead to fat cell death. Therefore, the desired result cannot be reached. The best method of prevention is putting a cushion or pillow under the thighs to elevate the buttocks and not to sit for more than 10 minutes. Also do not sleep on your stomach or sides. Wearing stretchy clothes during convalescence is very important. These clothes help distribute pressure evenly to places where fat has been removed from and as a result, they take a better form without putting extra pressure on the buttocks. In order to achieve the best possible result follow the surgeon’s instructions word by word. The exact period of convalescence relies on the surgery and your body’s recovery rate but for most people who don’t have desk jobs, they can return to their work after a week. People who have desk jobs might need to wait 3 weeks. Sometimes it takes even longer, but most people are able to return to their usual activities after 4 to 8 weeks. Nevertheless, it is helpful to keep in mind that your recovery is not yet complete even after being able to go back to work.

You have to wait a bit in order to fully enjoy the final results of your Brazilian butt lift surgery. The swelling in the place of surgery goes down after 6 weeks but in order to view the final result, you have to wait 3 to 4 months. Additionally, since people’s bodies and buttocks differ from one another, the results may vary for each patient. In general, you can expect to have a firmer and more attractive buttock. It’s also worth noting that some people need more than one surgery to achieve their desired result. In some rare cases, it is possible for there to be an asymmetry between the buttocks which warrants a second surgery in order to be resolved. Overall, in this technique, extra fat is extracted from other places and the buttock is filled using that fat which results in a rounder and curvier buttock. In this surgical technique, more volume is given to the buttock which gives it a more youthful and attractive look. Our patients tell us that they’re happy with how they look in jeans and dresses.
