Having a smooth and bright skin is anyone’s wish. But your skin gradually wrinkles in time and loses its elasticity due to environmental conditions. At Estetikcentrum we help you regain your youthful look through dermal fillers.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable liquids that fill underlying tissues to reduce the effect of wrinkles. Therefore, they’re used on the face and neck. Typically your own body fat or hyaluronic acid are used in the injections. At our clinic, we use only proven and well-known brands when it comes to fillers. You can remove signs of aging on your face and wrinkles around your eyes through filler injection. The filler is a natural substance that does not include any toxins. Its safety and effectiveness have been proven in clinical researches, also it does not impact facial movements. The active ingredient within fillers is hyaluronic acid which can be found naturally in our bodies. Dermal fillers are made with advanced technology to create natural and long-lasting results. These products are completely safe and are used by doctors and nurses all over the world.

What is hyaluronic acid?

A moist and natural substance that helps the skin remain healthy and youthful. This substance reduces as you age which in turn causes wrinkles. These days, hyaluronic acid filler injections can be made to return it to the skin and help alleviate wrinkles. This substance is used to fill superficial wrinkles or sunken skin (a scar or under the eyes) and lasts for about 6 months.

How is a body fat injection done?

Another skin rejuvenation technique is injecting the patient’s own fat as filler. Fat is removed from the patient’s body through liposuction and injected somewhere else. The steps involved in this process are more complicated than other filler injections; meaning it requires more care and expertise. The result’s longevity is around one year or longer.

Who will benefit the most from dermal fillers?

Generally speaking, dermal fillers don’t have any serious limitations and everyone is a suitable candidate for it. Most candidates of filler injection are above the age of 35 who are not happy with their faces and believe they’re suffering from premature aging. Filler injection is a safe and risk-free cosmetic procedure. The candidates for this procedure need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have a good health condition
  • Not smoke
  • Not use alcohol or drugs
  • Stay committed to a healthy diet
  • Follow a skin hygiene routine

Who is prohibited from receiving dermal fillers?

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • Those suffering from infection or inflammation around the injection area
  • Those suffering from blood and clotting disorders
  • Those afflicted with skin atrophy due to steroids
  • Immunodeficiency
  • Suffering from vitiligo or skin eczema
  • Allergic history or anaphylactic reactions

What are the benefits of dermal fillers compared with Botox injection or facelift surgery?

Filler injection helps you maintain your youthful, vibrant, and attractive look. Facelift surgery is much more expensive than a filler injection. Therefore, this procedure is suitable for those who are dealing with a limited budget. The injection takes less than half an hour to perform and lasts somewhere between 4 months and one year, sometimes even longer than that. In contrast to Botox injection which numbs and loosens the muscles around the injected area, dermal fillers fill the wrinkles and lines of the face with a special substance. Dermal fillers cannot stop the natural aging of the face but if you’ve got many wrinkles on your face, it would be best for you to undergo a facelift surgery. However, a filler injection can delay the need for surgery. Other pros of filler injection include:

  • Fast treatment
  • Non-invasive
  • Risk-free and short convalescence period
  • Creates the natural and delicate appearance
  • The results are reversed in a few months just in case you’re unhappy with them

Dermal fillers’ function in facial rejuvenation

One of the most important functions of this procedure is that it helps remove wrinkles around the eyes. Baggy and tired eyes are a common problem among the elderly. That’s because the volume under the eyes has been heavily reduced. Tired eyes often require multiple low dose injections. This method is highly recommended to those with dark rings or bags under their eyes. Filler injection under the eyes will be useful and effective for both young and older patients. Even younger people might not be too happy with the idea of having dark rings and lines under their eyes which could be due to genetics or aging. As time goes on, your lower eyelid’s muscles loosen and this condition is commonly referred to as baggy eyes. It is possible to resolve this issue through eyelid surgery, but filler injection is a more popular and effective treatment option.

Other functions of dermal fillers in rejuvenation

Using this procedure will rejuvenate the following areas:

  • Smile lines
  • Lip enhancement
  • Cheek enhancement
  • Lips becoming symmetrical
  • Moisturize lips
  • Lines between the lips and nose
  • Filling Forehead’s lines
  • Skin scar removal
  • Chin reshaping
  • Resolve sunken eyes

How dermal fillers work

Before beginning treatment, you’ll meet with our plastic surgeon or nurse and discuss your expectations from the treatment and current situation in order to receive the best treatment and the best results. This is a matter of utmost importance for us. During the session, you’ll be examined and your current medication will be reviewed. Your previous history for Botox injection, filler, laser treatment and other skin surgeries will be examined. The best possible treatment option will be recommended to you and the risks and rewards will be weighed as well.

Filler Injection Procedure

Our trained staff is capable of performing a filler injection with ease. The injection is painless and contains a numbing agent (lidocaine) to help you relax. To this end, the area in mind is marked first. The injection site is disinfected and washed. Local numbing cream can also be used to reduce pain. The injection takes a few seconds in each point. The injected area will be massaged and more filler injections will be made if needed.

Period of convalescence

After injections are done, the markings are removed from the patient’s face. You’ll experience a bit of swelling after treatment which can be reduced with ice packs. The injected area will feel extremely sensitive for up to two days, but the pain and discomfort are not so much as to require pain medication. It is recommended that you avoid hot showers and intense activities for up to 24 hours and keep the treatment area clean during that time. Avoid makeup, long exposure to ultraviolet rays, the temperature of 0 degrees centigrade, sauna, and Turkish baths for up to 2 or 3 weeks after your filler injection. There is no need to rest after filler injection and you can almost return to your daily routine after leaving the clinic. Still, it’s best to avoid any sort of intense physical activity for 2 days. Avoid direct exposure to the sun for a few weeks after dermal fillers treatment. The healing and recovery process for body fat injection is both longer and more complex.

What are the complications of gel injection?

Sometimes after injection the area might feel a bit bumpier, suggesting that the filler is too much. Other temporary complications of this treatment method include:

  • Swelling and bruising
  • Redness and skin inflammation
  • Temporary numbness

The above side-effects can be remedied in a few days with ice packs and some massaging. More serious complications of dermal fillers include:

  • Acne skin lesion
  • The asymmetry between the two sides of the face or other body parts
  • Bleeding in the injected area
  • The scar remains
  • Infection around the injected area
  • Lumps and bumps
  • Feeling the filler under the skin
  • Skin rash together with itching
  • The wrinkles don’t disappear or appear to be more unnatural
  • Becoming blind
  • Skin necrosis

Luckily you can rest assure that the above-mentioned complications don’t happen at Estetikcentrum clinic. We utilize the most experienced practitioners while observing the highest treatment standards, using high-quality materials, and have the experience of thousands of cases to avoid serious complications for the patient.

Dermal Fillers give the lips and the face a more defined and clearer form. We use VOLBELLA around the mouth and lips. VOLBELLA is a soft gel that is injected with a very thin needle. It gives a natural and soft feeling to the skin and effectively fills out lines and wrinkles around the lips. The hyaluronic acid penetrates deep within the skin and attracts and holds moisture. The effect lasts for an entire year. We also use VOLIFT to rejuvenate your skin which results in something between Volbella and Voluma. This product gives more volume compared to Volbella. Volift is typically used on the fold between the mouth and the cheek. If required, we can also offer other well-known products from other brands such as Skinbooster, SubQ and Perlanse.
