A nose job, or rhinoplasty, is a complex surgical procedure performed to change the shape, size, or proportions of the nose.
The surgery is performed under anesthesia and the surgeon shapes, repositions or removes nasal cartilage, bone and tissues to achieve the desired shape and structure of the nose.
After the shaping is complete, the surgeon carefully sutures the incisions with fine threads and then places a bandage or cast over the nose to protect it during the healing process.

Recovery from rhinoplasty requires patience. Bruising and swelling may initially obscure the results, but will disappear after the first few weeks.
If you have a weak nasal bone, extra support may be inserted in the first few weeks.
The small stitches on the outside of the nostrils are removed after a week.
You will be asked to use saline in your nose for a period after the procedure to minimize the risk of infection.
No antibiotics are prescribed as long as no infections occur.
The results are usually fully visible within just a few months, but if you have thicker skin on your nose, it can take up to a year.
