At first, you may experience a slight stinging sensation, irritation, and redness. The worst of it will subside after a few hours, and the redness should have completely disappeared after 3 days. A consultation will be conducted before or during your treatment. During the consultation, the skin therapist will examine your skin to determine the appropriate needle length for your skin type and estimate how many treatments you may need.
During the treatment, the skin therapist moves the device across the face; its small, sterile microneedles create micro-injuries in the skin tissue. The needles move at a speed of 50–150 times per second and penetrate to a depth of 0.5–2 mm, depending on the thickness of the skin and the area being treated.
During the treatment, red blood cells are released into the tissue, which the skin’s natural defense system perceives as an injury, triggering the natural healing process by significantly increasing collagen production after the treatment.

The treatment may cause some discomfort, and it may feel more intense in certain areas than in others. If you are sensitive to pain, this can be prevented by using a numbing ointment.

Microneedling can be repeated every four to six weeks as needed. Three treatments are usually required to boost collagen production, while scar reduction often requires more treatments. There should always be a four- to six-week interval between treatments.
