After your acne treatment: how to take care of your skin for best results

After an acne treatment at Estetikcentrum , you'll probably want to run out into the world and show off your new, fresh skin right away. But wait a minute! There are actually some important things to keep in mind to get the most out of your results. After a treatment, your skin is extra sensitive and how you take care of it over the next few days can make a big difference

The type of aftercare your treatment needs depends mainly on the method used. Some facials can cause you to flake, make you extra sensitive to sunlight or create redness after the treatment. Others give you an amazing glow and hydration right away, without you having to do any procedures or think about anything special. However, we're assuming you've had one of our popular acne treatments.
 

First day after treatment

We understand that it can be tempting to feel your skin when it starts to flake or if it feels a little extra dry and tight, but avoid this at all costs. The skin is now in the process of renewing and recovering, so let it do its job in peace. If you've used our popular retinol peel, flaking and dryness is something most people experience. As the new layer of skin rises to the surface, the old layer of skin falls off. Don't forget the importance of moisturizing in the meantime.

Moisturize deeply

Most people are aware of the importance of moisturizing, but we advise you not to use just any cream. After your treatment, you will receive guidance and advice from our skin therapists who can recommend the right product for you and your skin type. Skin care is an important step to help your skin recover quickly and maintain the great results of your treatment.

What can you expect from the treatment?

Here at Estetikcentrum , we do microneedling with great care and carefully adapted to your skin type and needs. The treatment usually takes 30-50 minutes depending on the area being treated. It is not unusual to feel a slight warmth or tingling during the treatment. However, this is nothing to worry about. We'll make sure you're comfortable throughout the process and offer anesthetic ointment for those who wish! After treatment, your skin may be a little red and sensitive, but this will disappear quickly. We usually recommend 2-3 treatments at least 4-6 weeks apart.

Protect your skin from the sun

After an acne treatment, your skin is more sensitive to sunlight and therefore it is extra important that you protect it. Of course, you don't have to stay indoors all spring and summer, but a good sunscreen should be applied daily and shade is preferable. In addition, some treatments make the skin so sensitive that it is not performed during the summer months at all, such as our retinol peel.
