There are few things as life-changing as becoming a mother, but pregnancy can also bring physical changes. One of the most common, and perhaps most frustrating, is stretch marks. Stretch marks occur as your belly grows bigger and as more pregnancy hormones are produced in your body. Here we tell you more about stretch marks, why they happen and how we at Estetikcentrum can help you get rid of them.

What are stretch marks?

Why a tear in the skin occurs is not really that difficult to understand. A stretch mark can occur when the skin needs to stretch very quickly over a short period of time, for example as the baby in the womb grows. Rapid weight gain, as well as hormonal changes, also have a major impact on skin elasticity. Areas such as the abdomen, hips, breasts and thighs are the most easily affected. Most commonly, stretch marks appear as red or dark brown lines. Over time, they usually lighten, but rarely disappear completely on their own.

Can you get rid of stretch marks?

Stretch marks can be a source of frustration and insecurity, especially during the summer months when people tend to wear lighter clothing. Unfortunately, there is no miracle method to completely remove stretch marks, but with high-quality treatments and trained staff, you can significantly reduce their visibility.

At Estetikcentrum , if you suffer from stretch marks, we can help you reduce their visibility and achieve more elastic, fresh and even skin tone. With our Plasma pen or fractional C02 laser treatment, you avoid both injections and surgery and can return to everyday life immediately after treatment.

Fractional carbon dioxide treatment stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which helps repair stretch marks and deeply improves skin texture. After treatment, the skin may turn red and feel stinging, a sign that the process has started to work.

A plasma pen creates microscopic points in the skin that tighten it and pull the cells closer together, reducing stretch marks in the treated area. To achieve the desired results, one or two treatments per year are usually sufficient.

Can creams help with stretch marks?

There are creams and oils on the market that aim to rejuvenate the skin and help you get rid of stretch marks. These creams usually contain retinoids, hyaluronic acid and oils that are said to improve the elasticity of the skin. There is currently no conclusive research showing that these creams have a major effect on stretch marks. What is seen, however, is that moisturizing and emollient creams improve the overall appearance of the skin.
