Have you started to notice that your eyelids are drooping more than before, giving you a tired or aged look? Maybe it's not your upper eyelids that are bothering you, but the swelling and bags under your eyes? At Estetikcentrum in Malmö, we offer eyelid surgery to help you regain a fresher and more youthful look.

Eyelid drooping is something that can occur as we get older, but it can also affect people at a younger age. As the skin around the eyes starts to lose its elasticity, the eyelids can droop, blocking the field of vision and causing discomfort or affecting self-confidence. Drooping eyelids can give a tired appearance and even affect vision if skin and fat are in the way. With eyelid surgery, we can help you lift your eyelids, remove excess skin, and make you look more alert and younger.

How eyelid surgery can make a difference

As mentioned earlier, eyelid surgery can not only make you look younger, but it can also help you improve your vision. We have many patients who come to us precisely because the excess skin is in the way and affecting their vision. Drooping upper eyelids can also be troublesome for many women when applying makeup. Do you find that your field of vision is limited or your side vision is affected? Then our skilled surgeons may have the solution to your problem. We use modern and advanced technology that gently and carefully removes fat and skin from the eyelids. We make sure that your result looks natural and that your scars are as minimal as possible.

Did you know that eyelid surgery can also improve your appearance and self-esteem? Many of our patients report feeling much more confident in themselves, becoming more outgoing and not wanting to wear sunglasses as often. When you look like you feel, you can feel more confident!

Upper and lower blepharoplasty

An eyelid surgery is performed by our skilled surgeons removing excess skin and any fat from the eyelids. We may also reshape the tissue if necessary and to ensure a good result. Incisions are carefully placed in a way that minimizes any scars. It is as important to us as it is to you that you get a natural and beautiful result.

We offer both upper and lower blepharoplasty. In upper eyelid surgery, excess skin is removed to tighten and lift the eyelids. Lower eyelid surgery removes bags under the eyes to eliminate the appearance of fatigue and provide a more rested result. If you have problems with both upper and lower eyelids, a combination procedure can be performed.

Preparation before and after

After the surgery, you may experience some swelling and light sensitivity, but this is completely normal. We recommend wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes from light and to feel more comfortable during the first days. As all bodies are different and recover at different rates, it is impossible to say when you will be back on your feet. However, the vast majority of people return to their daily routines during the first week.

Here's how you can prepare for your eyelid surgery:

  • Make sure you have someone to drive you home after the operation, as both swelling and light sensitivity can affect your vision.
  • Follow all post-operative instructions carefully. You will receive precise instructions from your surgeon after your consultation with us.
  • Be prepared that you may need to rest for a few days and avoid strenuous activities. We always give you two weeks of sick leave.
