Most of our treatments are relatively painless, but should you wish, there is the option of a numbing cream before your treatment.
A treatment with Alma Rejuve takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area. The treatment is virtually painless and no anesthesia is required. Before starting the treatment, the skin is cleaned and you are given protective glasses. A cooling gel is then applied. The laser sends light pulses to the area being treated. You can return to normal activities immediately, but may have a slight redness on the treated area.
Usually the areas treated darken 3-7 days after treatment. Gradually, the spots disappear, leaving a clearer and more even skin tone. If you experience mild swelling after treatment, you can cool the area for the first 24 hours. Avoid direct sunlight for the first 3-4 days after your treatment.
The effect of your laser treatment is visible after only one treatment, but for optimal results, multiple treatments are recommended. The number of treatments needed to achieve the desired result is individual and will be assessed during your consultation.

The vast majority of pigmentation changes are caused by sun exposure, but are also damage to the skin from lifestyle choices, genetics or hormonal causes. The distribution of melanin in the skin is affected by ageing or by hormonal changes, resulting in pigmented lesions. Age spots, freckles, or melasma which is a dark and patchy discolored area. Hormonal pigmentary changes are the most difficult to treat, while typical sun damage is usually easier.
