A treatment with Alma Rejuve takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area. The treatment is virtually painless and no anesthesia is needed. Before the treatment begins, the skin is cleaned and you are given protective goggles. Then a cooling gel is applied. The laser sends light pulses to the area being treated. You can return to normal activities immediately, but may have slight redness in the treated area.
Typically, the treated areas will darken 3-7 days after treatment. The spots will gradually fade to leave a clearer, more even skin tone. If you experience mild swelling after treatment, you can cool the area for the first 24 hours. Avoid direct sunlight for the first 3-4 days after your treatment.
The effect of your laser treatment is visible after just one treatment, but for optimal results, multiple treatments are recommended. The number of treatments needed to achieve the desired results is individual and will be assessed during your consultation.

The vast majority of pigment changes occur from sun exposure, but are also damage to the skin due to lifestyle choices, genetics or hormonal causes. The distribution of melanin in the skin is affected by aging or hormonal changes, resulting in pigmented lesions. Age spots, freckles, or melasma which is a dark and patchy discolored area. Hormonal pigment changes are the most difficult to treat, while typical sun damage is usually milder.
