Regardless of when you had your implant inserted, it will be replaced free of charge. This is contingent, however, on the rupture not being caused by external damage, such as from surgical instruments. This warranty applies to all types of permanent silicone implants that we offer.
However, it is important that a surgeon first examine the problem and make an assessment. Mentor also offers financial support of 1,000 EUR for revision surgeries in cases of naturally occurring ruptures. The warranty is valid for up to 10 years after the surgery. This also applies to capsular contracture (grade 3–4 on the Baker scale) or double capsular contracture involving Mentor implants.
For the warranty to be valid, it is important that you always register your implants within 90 days of the surgery. The warranty covers both rupture and grade 3–4 capsular contracture. Should such a complication arise, you can rest assured that your implants will be replaced at no cost to you as a customer. Motiva also offers an extended warranty for those who wish to purchase it. If you have Motiva implants other than QID or Zen, you can take advantage of a 2-year warranty for revision surgery up to $1,000. Please note that the warranty must be purchased at the time of registration and carries a fee of $100. If you have Motiva with QID or Zen, you can add a 1-year warranty for revision surgery completely free of charge and will then receive compensation for revision surgery of up to $2,500. This warranty must also be purchased at the time of registration and carries a fee of $200. Remember that you always receive two (a pair) of implants as a replacement from Motiva, even if only one breast is being operated on. All Motiva® implants are covered by the Always Confident Warranty® against rupture for the entire lifespan of the implant and by our replacement product policy in the event of capsular contracture of grade III and IV on the Baker scale for a period of 10 years.
