Abdominoplasty, or “tummy tuck,” is a procedure in which excess skin is removed to give the abdomen a smoother, firmer profile. The surgery is especially helpful after pregnancy or significant weight loss, when the skin has often stretched too much to contract on its own.
In addition to the aesthetic result, a tummy tuck also helps to address physical problems caused by excess skin, such as chafing, irritation or fungal infections in the skin folds. At Estetikcentrum in Malmö, we have helped thousands of patients regain a body they are comfortable with and recognize. By combining expertise in surgery with a deep understanding of your goals, we ensure that you get a result that increases both your quality of life and your self-confidence.

A tummy tuck can restore what has been lost after pregnancy or major weight changes. At Estetikcentrum in Malmö, our specialists tailor the procedure entirely based on your unique circumstances and goals.
Many people who have lost a lot of weight find that their skin doesn't keep up with their new body shape, no matter how much they exercise. A tummy tuck tightens the skin, removes any stretch marks, and gives your waist a more prominent contour. The result is a flatter stomach and a silhouette that better reflects your lifestyle.
For our patients, a tummy tuck is often more than just an aesthetic lift. It's about regaining comfort in their own body. After surgery, many experience:

A tummy tuck is a major procedure that requires both expertise and careful planning. For your safety, the surgery is always performed under general anesthesia, and an overnight stay at our clinic is always included so that we can care for you and monitor your recovery during the first 24 hours.
The size of the operation varies greatly depending on your circumstances. For some, a minor correction (mini abdominoplasty) is sufficient, while others have a larger excess of skin that requires a more extensive procedure. Often, patients choose to combine abdominoplasty with liposuction to further sculpt the result. Our surgeons at Estetikcentrum always listen to your wishes and make recommendations based on what gives the best and most lasting result for your particular body.
For many, a tummy tuck is a life-changing operation. In addition to the purely physical benefits, such as improved hygiene and getting rid of the weight of excess skin, we often see a huge difference in our patients' self-confidence.
Feeling comfortable in your clothes and in your own reflection often leads to a more active lifestyle. It is this positive change and increased quality of life that makes us at Estetikcentrum passionate about following our patients' journey – even long after the stitches have been removed.
We are by your side all the way from consultation to final check-up. We are a small clinic with world-class patient care that includes:
A tummy tuck can address several different issues at the same time and provide both functional and aesthetic improvements. The most common reasons our patients choose the procedure are because:
During the end of pregnancy, it is common for the rectus abdominis muscles to separate. In some cases, these do not return completely, despite exercise and physiotherapy, which can lead to back pain and a feeling of instability in the torso. Through an abdominoplasty, we can surgically restore the original position of the abdominal muscles.
Many clinics charge an extra fee for correcting the muscles, but at Estetikcentrum in Malmö this is always included in the price of your abdominoplasty. We believe that a well-functioning body is a prerequisite for a high quality of life and a sustainable result.

The procedure is safe when performed by an experienced and licensed plastic surgeon, but as with all surgical procedures, it is important to be well informed about both the process and any potential risks.

No surgical procedure is completely risk-free. By following our instructions before and after surgery, you can help reduce the risk of complications. Here are some factors that are important to know:
We encourage you to ask all your questions and share any concerns with your surgeon during your consultation. An informed decision is the foundation for a safe and successful surgery.
Abdominoplasty is an excellent option for those who have excess skin that does not retract naturally. Most of our patients have either been pregnant or have experienced significant weight loss. How the skin recovers after being stretched is individual and largely depends on the skin's natural elasticity.
To ensure the best and safest possible outcome, your health should be generally good. During the consultation, we will review your medical history to ensure that anesthesia is appropriate for you.
To be a suitable candidate for abdominoplasty, you should meet the following:
It's important to note that a tummy tuck is not a weight loss surgery. Although we often combine the procedure with liposuction, it is done to sculpt contours and remove stubborn fat deposits – not to reduce your overall body weight.
If your primary goal is to lose weight, we offer other effective solutions:

Abdominoplasty surgeries are normally performed under general anesthesia. Liposuction is performed first, if necessary. Our experienced surgeon then makes two incisions: one around the navel and one below the navel.
Here, your abdominal muscles can be sewn together and additional fat and loose skin can be removed. If you have a lot of loose skin, the belly button can be moved up, leaving a small, discreet scar.
At Estetikcentrum we do not use drainage, as we do not cut deeply into the muscle. Instead, a small layer of fat is left on the muscle.
How long a tummy tuck surgery takes depends on, among other things, which method the surgeon uses, whether it is a full or small tummy tuck, and whether you will also undergo liposuction or suture your abdominal muscles.
We usually say that the procedure itself takes between 1-3 hours, but you always spend longer in the operating room due to anesthesia and preparations for your surgery.
The price starts at SEK 49,900 for a lower abdominoplasty, and SEK 76,900 for a full abdominoplasty. Abdominoplasty with T-incision from 96,900 SEK

After a tummy tuck, it is not uncommon to feel both sore and tired in your body. The girdle you wear around your stomach and abdomen will likely feel tight and tight.
Many people experience difficulty straightening their backs once they get to their feet. This is a natural part of abdominoplasty and is not dangerous.
During the first few days, it is also common to experience pain and tenderness, for example when you move, laugh, or cough and sneeze.
The vast majority experience a very good recovery after just one week, but wait at least four weeks with heavy lifting and training.
There are two types of abdominoplasty: a full abdominoplasty and a mini-abdominoplasty of the lower abdomen.
Both types can eliminate unwanted fat, tighten loose skin, and repair separated abdominal muscles.
In a full abdominoplasty, we remove tissue both above and below the navel. In a lower abdominoplasty, we only touch areas below the navel.
Most patients undergo a full abdominoplasty, as it is common for the entire midsection to be affected, but it largely depends on your body and preferences.
A third procedure around the midsection is called a “belt lipectomy.” This procedure does the same thing as a full surgery but also removes excess fat and loose skin on the back using liposuction.

Aftercare of scars is very important for healing and reduced visibility. You will receive all information about self-care from your surgeon after surgery.
For example, it may help to walk slightly bent at the waist for a few days after surgery to reduce tension around the incisions.
Estetikcentrum also offers other treatments to reduce the visibility of scars after healing. Feel free to ask us or read more about microneedling, fractional laser and our aftercare packages. here.
Before it is time for you to go home, you will talk to your surgeon who will explain how the operation went and what is important to consider in the immediate period after the operation.
You will be given time for a return visit, a sick leave certificate and painkillers. You will also be given a belt to wear around your abdomen for 4-6 weeks. During this time, it is important that you avoid heavy lifting and sudden movements.
Our nurse will call you the day after you return home to check on how you are doing. The first follow-up visit will take place two weeks after surgery.
The final check takes place after about three months and then we check the results and take after-effects so that you can clearly see the difference.
It is important to follow your surgeon's recommendations. These usually include the following:
Even if you experience less pain and feel that both mobility and energy are present, it is important that you and your body rest after abdominoplasty.
Therefore, you will always be on sick leave for two weeks to allow for proper recovery. For a major tummy tuck, most people are able to return to work after about 2-3 weeks.
However, if you have a job where you lift heavy weights or where you need to move a lot, you may need to stay home longer.
During your consultation with the surgeon, it is important that you tell them what you are working on, so that you can receive advice and guidance.
