Permanent lip augmentation can be done in different ways. The two most common methods are:
Fat grafting: fat is taken from a part of the body where you are unhappy with it, such as the abdomen or waist, and injected into the lips. The effect of lip augmentation with fat is permanent and you do not need to repeat treatments with fillers. The procedure is usually performed under anesthesia and takes about an hour.
Lip lift: The surgeon makes a V-shaped incision which is then sewn together in a Y-shape. This pushes the mucous membrane forward. A lip augmentation with VY-plasty can also be advantageously combined with fat injections to make the lips fuller.
