Have you ever wondered how fillers actually work? How a simple treatment can give you fuller lips, reduce wrinkles, or make your entire face feel more youthful in just a few minutes? It's not magic, even though we ourselves see incredible results on a daily basis. The magic in this case, however, comes in the form of hyaluronic acid.

At Estetikcentrum we often get curious questions from our customers and it is something that we are happy to answer. One of the most common concerns is what fillers actually contain, whether they are safe and how long the results last. Here we will go through just that, but we will also talk more about why fillers are so popular for lip augmentation.

What are fillers and why is hyaluronic acid used?

Simply put, fillers are an injection treatment used to restore or add volume to the face. The active ingredient in most fillers is hyaluronic acid, which is also what we use at Estetikcentrum. This substance is found naturally in your body, for example in the skin, joints and eyes. You can call it the body's own moisture binder, because the substance acts as a moisture magnet and keeps the skin supple and fresh.

As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, causing us to lose volume and elasticity. This is when lines, wrinkles and sometimes a tired expression can begin to appear. With fillers, we gently fill these areas back in.

What can fillers do for the lips?

One of the most common areas to treat is the lips. With fillers we can add volume, define contours or simply moisturize dry lips from within. Everything is done with precision and with your face as the starting point, so that the result feels soft, harmonious and personal. You as our customer are involved in the process all the way. Do you want a discreet change? No problem. Do you want to build up a little more volume in your lips over time? We can solve that. The great thing about fillers is that the result can be adjusted according to your wishes.

This is how the treatment works

The treatment always starts with a consultation with us . There we talk about what you want to achieve and together we look at what suits you best. We look at the proportions of your face, go through the treatment plan and make sure that all your questions are answered.

The injection itself rarely takes more than 20–30 minutes, but expect to spend around 60 minutes in the clinic. The filler is injected with a very thin needle or a blunt cannula, depending on the area and desired result.

After the treatment, there may be some swelling or small bruises on the lips, but this usually subsides within a few days. The results usually last between 6 and 12 months, but can vary depending on how your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid.

Fillers under the eyes – do they work?

Fillers are great for adding volume to the lips and giving more definition, but they can also be used in other areas. Another area where fillers can make a big difference is under the eyes. Many people experience dark circles or deep wrinkles even though they sleep well. With fillers under the eyes, we smooth out the area and give a more lively impression, without you losing expression or facial expression.
