Many men experience disproportionately large breasts during puberty, but this usually evens out with age. However, not for everyone, and then you can investigate whether you are suitable for gynecomastia. Weight loss, anabolic steroids or a large amount of body fat are other reasons that can lead to enlarged breasts.
This is one of the many common questions about gynecomastia, and yes, we recommend a hormone evaluation beforehand. We want to rule out that your breast growth is due to a disease before we operate. You can often investigate this through your health center.

Gynecomastia surgery is usually performed under light anesthesia or local anesthesia.
If gynecomastia is due to growth of mammary gland tissue, an incision is made and tissue is cut away from the underside of the areola.
If it is pseudogynecomastia, i.e. gynecomastia due to fat accumulation, you can choose to have liposuction around the chest.
The operation is relatively simple and can therefore be performed under local anesthesia or light anesthesia.
When the surgery is complete, invisible stitches are placed to prevent scarring and a dressing is applied, and you will be discharged the same day.
Every body heals differently, but in most cases, you can see results from the procedure after one to two weeks. However, it can take up to several months for the skin around the breasts to adapt and contract. Therefore, we recommend that our patients avoid heavy and strenuous physical activity during the first few months.
