The incision is made on the inside of the upper arm to reduce the visibility of scars afterwards. The length of the scar depends on how much skin is removed. The aim of the surgery is to create a smooth, firm skin on the upper arm. You will usually be given a general anesthetic but may also be given a local anesthetic, depending on the size of the procedure.
